Hygroscopic reactions of the parquet

Hardwood flooring is a natural product and it reacts from a hygroscopic point of view to the changing conditions of the environment. The wood absorbs water vapors in the environment and expands when the room humidity increases or it evaporates and the wood shrinks when the humidity decreases. This may influence the form and dimension changes of the components, and therefore it may appear fissures and checks when air humidity remains too high or too low for an extended period of time. The most difficult period is in winter when the humidity drops greatly. In this cases, it is good to maintain the desired humidity, best hydration is obtained using the electrical hydration equipment for rooms.

Also in the rooms with air conditioning the too low air humidity phenomenon may appear.
